Brothers, this word that follows is not against people, but against deception and our own negligence.
Brothers, listen, for the times no longer endure gentle words. Bucharest has been filled with delusion, with the congress of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and not only they are the great danger, but your own sleep, you who were baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Do not be surprised that deception walks freely through the capital; be surprised that you, the sons of Orthodoxy, have allowed the candle to go out, for where the light of Christ does not burn, any shadow enters. Christ, the Son of God, does not change. He is the Truth, not an opinion; He is the Way, not an alternative; He is the Life, not an interpretation. And whoever seeks Him outside the Church seeks water in the desert. Know that not all who speak His Name also follow Him. The true Christ is the One preached by the Holy Apostles, guarded by the Ecumenical Councils, lived by the Holy Fathers; and whoever departs from this order departs from the Truth.
The Mother of God is not a detail, but the mother of the Christian people; and whoever rejects Her rejects Her Son. Whoever does not honor Her cannot have peace. She is the shield of the Romanians, the protection of the nation, the guardian of the humble. Brothers, hold fast to the Mother of God, for deception flees from Her as smoke flees from the wind.
The Holy Apostles did not preach two Gospels, but one. The Holy Fathers did not guard two faiths, but one. They did not change the Truth according to the times, but remained steadfast until death. Whoever comes today with another Gospel, with another teaching, with another Christ, is not sent by God. Do not receive foreign teachings, even if they come with a smile, with politeness, with the Holy Scripture in hand. Holy Scripture without the Church is a sword in the hand of a child.
Romanians, have you forgotten the Divine Liturgy? Have you forgotten confession? Have you forgotten prayer? Have you forgotten fasting? Have you forgotten humility? Have you forgotten that you are children of Christ, not spiritual tourists? And now you wonder that deception knocks at your door? Where there is no light, darkness enters; where there is no vigilance, delusion enters; where Christ is not present, any foreign voice enters. And to you who lead the cities and the country, I speak with severity: You will give account before Christ — not because you allowed foreigners to come, for each person has his freedom — but because you left the people without protection, without catechesis, without light, without true shepherds. You opened the gates without discernment; you turned the capital into a marketplace of ideas, not a fortress of faith; and you forgot that the soul of a nation is more precious than all your projects. When the shepherds sleep, the wolves enter; when the leaders do not keep watch, the people go astray — and for this you will answer. And to you, young people, I speak with pain: You are the most hunted, for deception comes to you with a smile, with promises, with “new truths,” with “modern spirituality.” Do not let your minds be stolen. Not everything new is true, and not everything that shines is light. Hold fast to Christ, to the Mother of God, to the Church. Hold fast to the Holy Fathers, to the Holy Apostles, for there is power, there is peace, and there is the Truth.
Brothers, awaken. Judge no one, but guard your soul. Hate no one, but do not receive deception. Quarrel with no one, but do not abandon the Holy Orthodox Faith. Hold fast to the Cross, hold fast to the Mother of God, hold fast to the Holy Apostles, hold fast to the Holy Fathers, and hold fast to the Holy Orthodox Church, for there is life, there is peace, there is the Truth. Romanians, awaken — the time is short and the deception is great. If you guard the faith, God will guard the country; and if you abandon it, God allows the trial.
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Light of the world and unchanging Truth, look upon us, the unworthy, who have grown weak in faith and have allowed deception to walk through our cities. Strengthen us with the power of Your Cross, that we may not be shaken by any foreign teaching.Most Holy Mother of God, Mother of Light and Protectress of our nation, cover us with your holy veil and drive away from us all delusion, all confusion, all deceit of the evil one. Strengthen our hearts in humility, vigilance, and love of Truth. Holy Apostles, who preached to the world the one and true Gospel, pray for us, that we may not turn to the right or to the left, but remain in the teaching you sealed with your blood. Holy Fathers, pillars of Orthodoxy, guardians of the dogmas and enlighteners of the world, strengthen our minds, inflame our hearts, awaken our conscience, that we may not receive any word that does not come from the Holy Spirit. Lord, protect the youth of this nation, for they are the most hunted by deception. Plant in them the desire for purity, for truth, for prayer, for the Church. Guard them from deceitful voices, from false light, from the feigned smile of those who do not know You. Lord, enlighten the leaders of the country, that they may understand that the soul of the people is more precious than all their plans. Give them fear of You, wisdom, and vigilance, that they may not leave the flock without shepherds and the city without protection. Lord, have mercy on the Romanian people, who were baptized in Your Name and lived for centuries under Your protection. Raise us from sleep, strengthen us in faith, inflame our hearts, that we may not be lost in the waves of the times, but remain anchored in Your holy Church. Lord Jesus Christ, do not let us fall into deception, do not let us depart from the Truth, do not let us lose our souls through carelessness and indifference. Keep us close to You, to Your Cross, to Your Mother, to Your Saints, for You are the Light of the world, the eternal Truth, and the Life without end, and to You we give glory, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
