The elder said to the brother: My son, the path is never lost; only the man who no longer looks forward is lost. The path to Christ is not a trail on the earth, but a direction of the heart. When the heart turns toward Him, even wandering becomes the beginning of a path and when the heart turns toward the world, even the straight road becomes wandering. Know this: you do not need to find the path, but to let Christ find you, for He does not seek those who know where they are going, but those who no longer know how to return. The Mother of God does not point the way with her finger, but with her heart; and when you call upon her, she does not say ‘go there,’ but ‘come with me, and the Saints are not signposts, but companions on the way.
Then the elder said: My son, the path to Christ begins the moment you stop walking alone.

A brother said to the elder: Father, how can I remember the path if I have lost it?
The elder answered: My son, the modern man does not lose the path because he does not know it, but because he no longer has time to seek it. He runs after all the roads of the world, yet no longer manages to walk on any of them. Know that the path to Christ is not seen with the eyes, but is kindled in the heart, and the heart is not kindled by screens,
but by prayer. The modern man sets a GPS for every destination, but no longer sets his knees to the ground for the only destination that matters, and then he wonders why he cannot find the way. The Mother of God does not let you go astray, but neither can she lead you if you do not want to walk, and the Saints do not pull you forward, but wait for you until you decide to begin.
Then the elder said: My son, the path to Christ is not lost, it is only covered with the dust of indifference.
The brother trembled and said within himself: How can I clean this dust, if it has gathered over the years?
